"She will remain forever in our hearts": Margot, a little girl born without ears, dies at the age of 4

"How do you find the words when your heart is broken?" These extremely powerful words begin a long message posted via Facebook on Sunday, February 23, by the parents of Margot, a 4-year-old girl who died over the weekend at the family home in Boulazac, in the Dordogne.
As the daily Sud Ouest recalls, the child was born in November 2020 without ears, ear canals or eardrums.
In addition, she also suffered from Pierre Robin syndrome (or Pierre Robin sequence, editor's note), which is characterized by malformations of the chin and palate, and consequently by difficulties in feeding and breathing.
Although the parents did not indicate the causes of the disappearance of their daughter, who "flew away in her sleep, peacefully", France Bleu recalls that for four years, they tried to raise the funds necessary for an operation that was supposed to improve Margot's daily life.
Through the association " Des oreilles pour Margot ", they tried to raise 200,000 euros for the surgical procedure that was to take place in the United States. To date, the online kitty had collected a little over 55,000 euros.
"She gathered around her a family of hearts, carried by solidarity and hope. Today, it is we who need you. Your thoughts, your love, your shared memories. Margot will remain forever in our hearts, and we will ensure that her sparkle never fades," is written in the publication dated Sunday.
The funeral is scheduled for Tuesday, February 25, at the Atur cemetery, still in the Dordogne department.
